October 9th opening in Wiels: a retrospective of Francis Alÿs, whose influence is noticed in exhibitions all over Europe this year. Jenny Wilson saw the travelling exhibition in Tate Modern this summer and gives a preview on what to expect in Brussels.

It was the weekend of artists' initiative festivals. While Amsterdam's Art Pie is mostly focussing on Dutch contributions, No Soul For Sale in London brought together a more international crowd. ‘A pop-up village in a dogville like setting’.
You can always bank on the Turner Prize to think of something different when it comes to selecting a winner. So, this year's winner once again provides a stark contrast to some of his more controversial predecessors: Richard Wright (49) is a painter, whose wall paintings are always temporary, skillfully done but most of all things of pure beauty. The Tate Triennial is opening in London this spring, put together this time by the French curator Nicolas Bourrioud who became renowned for conceiving the term 'relational aesthetics'. He has seized the exhibition as an opportunity to further explore his newest art historical concept: altermodernity.
