METROPOLIS M is invited to take part in the NY Art Book Fair in New York, organized by Printed matter, Inc. at MoMA PS1, Long Island City, in Queens New York.

A preview will be held on the evening of Thursday, September 29th. Free and open to the public, and featuring more than 200 exhibitors, the NY Art Book Fair is the world's premier event for artists' books, contemporary art catalogs and monographs, art periodicals, and artist zines. Exhibitors include international presses, booksellers, antiquarian dealers, artists and independent publishers from twenty-one countries.

METROPOLIS M is invited to the first Amsterdam Art/Book Fair. The event will take place on the 14 & 15 of May 2011, presenting a high-end international selection of art publications. The fair will reflect emerging practices and new developments in artistic practice through a selection of publishers from 16 countries.Printed matter and digital media edited by independent publishers, artists, magazines, institutions, art schools and graphic design studios are also featured in this first edition.

Conferences and talks by keynote speakers, book launches and signings, artist talks and performances will concurrently take place during the Amsterdam Art/Book Fair. Guests include Kenneth Goldsmith, Metahaven, Clive Phillpot, Tiffany Malakooti / Bidoun Magazine and Mathieu Copeland. A unique series of curated tables will offer a selection of publications and posters. Furthermore the Amsterdam Art/Book Fair intends to be a meeting place during the Amsterdam Art Week by giving special attention to education, with five art and design academies concerned with publishing invited to present recent publications and lectures series.

Entrance to the AA/BF is free.

METROPOLIS M takes part in The Young Art Fair Liste in Basel.

Every year since its opening in 1996, the LISTE - the Young Art Fair in Basel has presented new and important galleries and highly contemporary young art. The LISTE's concept of introducing galleries in general no more than 5 years old and artists under 40 has been at the heart of its being one of the most important fairs for young art and still being considered one of the art world’s most important discoverer fair.

METROPOLIS M is invited to take part in Utopia for Sale.

Utopia For Sale is a magazine exhibition featuring the archives of the most engaging publications in the current sphere. CMYK in cooperation with ARCHIVE KABINETT and GRID curates the show and presents an array of past and present issues in dialogue with each other around the idea of ‘Utopia’.

Participating magazines among the others: A prior, Afterall, Archive Journal, Artforum, Chimurenga, Control, Ctrl+P, Dot Dot Dot, Filip magazine, IDEA arts + society, Lacanian Ink, Metropolis M, Mono-Kultur, Mousse, n.paradoxa, N+1, Not Announced, Paper Monument, Pavilion Magazine, Script, Spike, Springerin, The Happy Hypocrite, The Mock and other superstitions, TkH – Teorija koja Hoda, Volume, Zehar Magazine


CMYK is the first international meeting dedicated to independent magazines, the next edition will be organised in Berlin in spring 2010. ARCHIVE KABINETT’s purpose is to create a space in which to experiment with formats and concepts related to the publishing field, to stimulate a challenging collaboration between artists, writers and curators while exploring their roles. GRID, an art collective based in San Paulo and Berlin has been invited to curate the exhibition ‘s display during abc.
