Facing Forward open call winners

28/05/2012

The final event dealing with the theme ‘Future’s Future’ will take place on 31 May. A large number of speakers will present their view on the question of how we should look forward in these uncertain times in the style of Pecha Kucha (short, 6-minute lectures).

Through an open call the organisers of Facing Forward will give three young speakers the opportunity to appear on the large stage at the Old Lutheran Church in Amsterdam (Singel 411) and present their reflections, predictions and possible prophecies on the subject of ‘Future’s Future’.

The organisers received many applications for the open call.

The winners are:
Snejanka Mihaylova (artist/researcher)
Katharina Neuburger (art historian/curator)
Ding Ren (artist/writer)
Daan Roosegaarde (artist)

Their proposals all provided thought-provoking material to discuss the question: how to look forward - through art?

They will present their lectures at the the 'Future's Future' lecture evening on May 31, at 8 PM, alongside many more speakers. For the full programme and tickets, please visit www.facingforward.nl.

The Whitney Museum is going back to basics, or at least that’s what you might think with their new brand identity redesign that was unveiled today. Leuk portret van Jeff Koons: Three decades into a choppy but astonishingly high-profile career, Koons remains something of a boy wonder—a trim, soft-spoken, systematic, and tightly scheduled puppet master who speaks in a reassuring near singsong, his language all patient, bright-eyed affirmation, as if reciting from a well-worn, well-worked-out self-help text .
