Open call: Looking for speakers for Facing Forward: Future’s Future

In the past few months international speakers including Hans Belting, Iwona Blazwick, Rem Koolhaas, China Miéville and Hito Steyerl have focused on the future in the context of the successful series of lectures Facing Forward: Art & Theory from a Future Perspective.

The final event dealing with the theme ‘Future’s Future’ will take place on 31 May. A large number of speakers will present their view on the question of how we should look forward in these uncertain times in the style of Pecha Kucha (short, 6-minute lectures).

The organisers of Facing Forward will give three young speakers the opportunity to appear on the large stage at the Old Lutheran Church in Amsterdam (Singel 411) and present their reflections, predictions and possible prophecies on the subject of ‘Future’s Future’. For information about applications and procedures, please see below.

For more information on the subject “Future’s Future” and the other speakers: www.facingforward.nl/future-future
Deadline for applications: 18 May 2012 (applications after that date will not be dealt with).

How to apply: Send a brief resume of the lecture you want to give (in English, maximum 100 words) plus a short autobiographical summary (maximum 50 words) to info@facingforward.nl.
