Rio-de-Janeiro-based artist Renata Lucas, whose work mainly focuses on temporary interventions into built environments, has won an €20,000 Absolut Art Award. Lucas picks up the prize winner’s money in the gong’s “art work” category — plus a €100,000 budget to develop a new project. Meanwhile, the Absolut Art Bureau’s Art Writing Prize was given to New Yorker Coco Fusco, who takes another €20,000 cash prize along with the same sum to publish and distribute a new book.
