Frieze Art Fair 2013
Metropolis M headed to Regents Park for a preview of the eleventh edition of Frieze Art Fair. With fewer exhibitors, a more spacious design, and maintaining Frieze Masters and Frieze Focus that were introduced last year, co-directors Amanda Sharp and Matthew Slotover created a manageable and comfortable experience that is uncharacteristic for a large art fair.
Dutch representation was meagre. No more Fons Welters, Juliette Jongma, Diana Stigter or Paul Andriesse. Luckily Annet Gelink’s presentation of works by among others Ryan Gander, Roger Hiorns, Meiro Koizumi and Antonis Pittas was buzzing.
Frieze Galleries features the leading art galleries worldwide, Frieze Frame consists of solo presentations by young galleries, Frieze Focus presents projects specifically conceived for Frieze, and Frieze Sculpture Park shows sculptures dating from the 11th century to now. An impression in images.
